SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS For LI-ION/POLYMER BATTERIES

  • You must read these safety instructions and warnings before using, storing, or charging your batteries.
  • Li-ion and Lithium Polymer batteries are explosive. Failure to read and follow these safety instructions may result in fire, personal injury and harm to property if charged. stored or used improperly.
  • Buying Lithium Polymer/Li-ion battery, the buyer assumes all risks related to the batteries and chargers. . If you do not understand or are unable to follow these instructions , please do not purchase the batteries or return the battery immediately before use.
  • Li-Ion/ Polymer battery & packs could explode and cause a fire . All Li-ion batteries & charger buyers should seek professional advice and have the capability to handle an emergency.
  • You must follow all instructions listed on manufacturer's website, in the product packaging, and on this page, and on this site.
  • When charging batteries in a charger , please place the battery in a fireproof container. Please don't leave the battery and charger on the wood material, unattended or on carpet.
  • You must keep Li-Ion & Polymer batteries away from children.
  • Always use chargers made specifically to your battery and made up with a UL certification, do not modify a charger. Do not build your own battery pack or charger.
  • Always double check polarity of the batteries when charging and when in use. Do not charge or operate any device where the batteries are not installed according to the indicated polarity.
  • Do not combine and use old batteries and new batteries, batteries with different brand names, or with different specifications. .
  • Lithium batteries have a life cycle life. Please replace the batteries every 3 months with a new ones.
  • Please test the Li-Ion battery you purchase from us before using or sell to your customer to ensure battery can be operated properly and safely in the device. For more information, please contact us or the manufacturer directly.
  • Do not use batteries that are peeling, damaged, cosmetically altered, dented, are warm to the touch, wet, or have been improperly stored or charged.
  • Always use a smart charger with protection circuits. Check with the battery manufacturer and the charger manufacturer for use, care, and warnings.
  • Batteries that lose 20% of their capacity should be removed from service and disposed of properly.
  • We recommend that you inspect and replace your batteries often. Batteries that have been stored and not placed in service for 2 months should be discarded and not be charged or used

General Guidelines and Warnings:

  • Use a Lithium Polymer/Li-ion charger which is specifically made and compatible with your batteries. Do not use a NiCd or NiMH charger- Failure to do so may cause a fire or explosion , which may result in personal injury and property damage.
  • Never charge batteries unattended. When charging LiPo/Li-ion batteries you should always remain in constant observation to observe the charging and react to potential problems that may occur.
  • Some LiPo/Li-ion chargers on the market may have technical shortage that may cause it to charge the LiPo/Li-ion batteries incorrectly or at an improper rate. It is your responsibility to assure the charger you purchased works properly.
  • If at any time you witness a battery starting to balloon, smoke, swell up or become hot, discontinue the charging method immediately . Turn off and unplug the charger. Remove the when it is safe. If the battery or charger is hot do not handle same. If you have any doubt as to your safety , please leave the premises and contact your fire department for assistance. .
  • Since delayed chemical processes will occur, it is best to watch the battery as a security precaution. Observation should occur in a safe area outside of any building or vehicle and away from any fuel.
  • Wire lead shorts can cause fire! If you accidentally short the wires, the battery must be placed in a safe area for observation for approximately 15 minutes.Additionally, if a short occurs and contact with metal (such as rings on your hand), severe injuries could occur due to the conductibility of electric current.
  • Do not cut any terminal wires or solder any connections.
  • A battery can still ignite even after 10 minutes.
  • In the event of any damage due to dropping the charger, you must remove the battery for observation and place it in a safe open area away from any combustible material for approximately 15 minutes. Do not reuse the charger unless you have consulted with the manufacturer. There could be internal damage which is not visible. We suggest you discontinue the use of the charger and proper disposal.
  • Never store or charge battery pack inside your car in hot temperatures, since extreme temperature could ignite fire. Do not charge or transport a battery that has been stored in a hot temperature.
  • Never drop the batteries. Dropped and/or damaged batteries should not be used and should be properly disposed .
  • We suggest you store the battery in an enclosure made specifically for the battery to protect it from damage by accident, sharp objects, dropping, contact with metal objects, water, and any other liquid.

Charging Process:

  • Never charge batteries unattended. Place battery within a fireproof container and charge in an isolated space, keep away from other flammable materials. Always have a fire extinguisher for emergency use.
  • Do not overcharge batteries.
  • Keep batteries and chargers away from children and pets.
  • Do not charge batteries overnight.
  • Do not charge your batteries or device with a phone, tablet, or standard USB port.
  • Do not modify, remove or disable security features of your charger or device.
  • Charge on a flat surface and ventilated area.
  • Let the battery cool down to ambient temperature before charging.
  • Do not charge battery packs in series: Charge each battery pack one by one. Failure to do so may result in incorrect battery recognition and charging functions. Overcharging may occur, and fire may be the result.
  • When picking out the cell count or voltage for charging purposes, select the cell count and voltage as it appears on the battery label. As a safety precaution, please confirm the information printed on the battery is correct.
  • Example: The label on a 2-Cell battery pack in series will read charge as 2-Cell (7.4V). You must select 2-Cell for charging.
  • Example: The label on a 3-Cell battery pack in series will read charge as 3-Cell (11.1V) .. You must select 3-Cell for charging.
  • Selecting a cell count other than the one printed on the battery (always confirm label is correct), can cause a fire.
  • You must select the charge rate current that does not exceed the battery's allowed charging current. (Please double-check the battery's specification, manufacturer’ s instructions and charger instructions)
  • Charge battery with best quality Lithium Polymer charger. A bad-quality charger can be dangerous and should not be used.
  • Set voltage and current correctly (failure to do so it can cause fire). Please check cell voltage after the first charge.
  • Please check cell voltage after the 1st charge.
  • Let battery cool down to ambient temperature before charging.

Storage & Transportation:

  • Do not expose the batteries or charger to direct sunlight (heat) for extended periods.
  • When transporting or temporarily storing in a vehicle, the temperature range should be greater than 20 degrees F but not more than 80 degrees F.
  • Store battery at normal room temperature between 40 and 80 degrees F for good results.
  • Storing battery at normal temperatures more than 80 degrees F may cause damage to battery and/or charger and possible fire or explosion can occur.
  • Do not pile the batteries.
  • Do not carry loose batteries in your pocket or bags.
  • Keep batteries away from metal items (keys, coins, jewelry, cell phones, etc.)
  • Keep batteries away from flammable material
  • Periodically check batteries for signs of wear and tear. If observed, dispose of the batteries. When in doubt, throw them out!!!
  • Keep batteries in their case or other insulated material when not in use or being charged.
  • Do expose batteries to direct sunlight, moisture or unsafe temperature
